FEMINISM AND SHAKESPEARE
The
crucial question that arises out of this debate on feminist criticism is... Why
is Shakespeare chosen to be or not to be proved as a feminist? As said earlier,
Feminist scholars in their attempt in creating an autonomous canon of women
literature went on to analyze almost every single male text where attacking of
these versions is the major outcome. On the other hand, they have tried to find
out feminist sympathies in male writings where William Shakespeare becomes a
major controversial question....
